چکیده

Euborellia annulipes (Lucas) (Dermaptera: Anisolabididae) is reported as a potential predator of Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae). In this study, we aimed to investigate whether fourth instar larvae, 1 or 3-day-old pupae P. are suitable food for the development and reproduction E. annulipes. We evaluated characteristics predation, each life stage, predator, by comparing them with an artificial diet. The nymphs consumed larvae equally in first instars, but, from third fifth, they more over pupae. Both males females well. shortest developmental period was observed on at instar. Males presented lower longevity fed highest survival rate adults were Pupae any age provided weight (fourth fifth instar) adults. One-day-old fecundity (480 eggs/female); however, egg hatching higher when larvae. net reproductive 1-day-old (292.8), but intrinsic increase (0.03 day$^{-1}$) finite (1.034 lower, both mean generation time (143.4 days) doubling (20.6 This study shows that 1- can be

Sublethal Effects of Fenoxycarb on the Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae)

The effects of fenoxycarb, a Juvenile hormone analogue, at sublethal concentrations were tested on some biological parameters of Plutella xylostella (L.) in two consecutive generations. The calculated LC10, LC25, and LC50 values of the insecticide were 21.58, 43.25, and 93.62 mg/liter on third-instar larvae, respectively. Fenoxycarb significantly reduced pupal weight and oviposition period in p...

Evaluating trap crops for diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae).

Potential trap crops for the diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae), were evaluated through a series of ovipositional preference and larval survival experiments in outdoor screenhouses in 2002 and 2003. Hosts examined as trap crops were glossy and waxy collards, Brassica oleracea L. variety acephala; Indian mustard, Brassica juncea (L.) Czern; and yellow rocket, B...

Laboratory Evaluation of Commercial Trichogrammatid Products for Potential Use against Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae)

In laboratory experiments we compared the mortality of Plutella xylostella L. eggs induced by six products of trichogrammatid egg parasitoids. Five of the species were commercially available, and the sixth is under development. Each of the six products represented a single species of trichogrammatid (Trichogrammatoidea bactraeNagaraja,Trichogrammapretiosum Riley, T. ostriniae Pan & Chen, T. pla...

New records of natural enemies of Plutella xylostella (L.) (Lepidoptera: Plutellidae) in Pernambuco, Brazil.

We report the occurrence of natural enemies of Plutella xylostela (L.) in organically farmed kale in Pernambuco, Brazil. Seven natural enemies were observed parasitizing or preying on larvae and pupae of P. xylostella--three parasitoids: Cotesia plutellae Kurdjumov (Hym.: Braconidae), Conura pseudofulvovariegata (Becker) (Hym.: Chalcididae) and Tetrastichus howardi (Olliff) (Hym.: Eulophidae), ...
